In December 2020, Congress signed the Consolidated Appropriations Act (“CAA”) into law. Among other provisions, the CAA includes the No Surprises Act. The No Surprises Act requires all group health plans, including grandfathered plans, to apply in-network
health plan, your employer pays a monthly premium to an insurance company to cover the cost of potential medical claims and a profit for the health plan. The insurance company has preset cost agreements with hospitals and providers, and manages the payment.
